Mrs. Louise (Whittaker) Spencer, 101, of Norcross, GA, formerly of Ballardsville and Crestwood, passed away on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017.

She was born on February 15, 1916 in Krypton, Perry County, Kentucky to the late Alexander and Jane Whittaker.

Louise taught school for thirty three years in Perry, Breathitt and Oldham Counties and retired in 1977. After retirement she worked several years for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky in Crestwood before retiring again in 2007 at age 91. She was a member of the former Buckner Baptist church prior to her move...

Mrs. Louise (Whittaker) Spencer, 101, of Norcross, GA, formerly of Ballardsville and Crestwood, passed away on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017.

She was born on February 15, 1916 in Krypton, Perry County, Kentucky to the late Alexander and Jane Whittaker.

Louise taught school for thirty three years in Perry, Breathitt and Oldham Counties and retired in 1977. After retirement she worked several years for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky in Crestwood before retiring again in 2007 at age 91. She was a member of the former Buckner Baptist church prior to her move to Georgia in 2012 to live with her son Paul.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Oakley Franklin Spencer, infant son; Robert Eugene, her parents, 6 brothers, 2 sisters and son-in-law Claude Davis.

Left to cherish the memory of Louise are her daughter; Wilma Jane Davis of Louisville, 2 sons; William C (Nancy) of Crestwood and Paul F. (Ruth) of Norcorss, GA, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews and many friends in Kentucky and Georgia.

Services to celebrate the life of Louise Spencer will be held Friday at 1pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with visitation from 11am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange, Kentucky.
