Georgia (McRoberts) Hampton passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Hampton; brothers, Bob and Doug McRoberts; sisters, Peggy Teague and Jeannette Honeymeyer.
Georgia is survived by her two daughters, Mary Jean Harter and Vicki Kinser (Tony); her sister Lillian Gill, a brother, John McRoberts, Jr. (Jean). Grandchildren Katie Carroll, Lori Shaffer, Mike Harter, Sarah MacVoy and Philip Kinser and 11 greatgrandchildren, who all loving called her Nanny.
She was born March 19, 1922 to John and Ruby McRoberts, eldest of 7 children in Shelby County. Her family moved to LaGrange when she was a baby, and she has lived here her entire life.
Georgia was loved by all who knew her. Georgia was the Salutorian of her class at LaGrange High School and a retired secretary at Cassady Insurance Agency in LaGrange. She lived life to the fullest; dancing with senior friends at the Tea Dances at the Moose Lodge in Louisville and being a member of LaGrange Christian Church. The LaGrange Christian Church once wrote about Georgia as being "their own version of Betty White. Their longest standing active member, drives herself to worship service, make up perfect, every hair in place, dressed like a magazine ad and in her high-heeled shoes, pops up the steps into church with more ease than some of us half her age."
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery. Visitation from 4-8 PM on Friday.
Memorials to LaGrange Christian Church or Oldham County Humane Society.
